Downlights & Spotlights Need Careful Planning
When you decide to install or change any lighting scheme there are so many factors to be taken in to account. Firstly in a new build scheme is where the power lines into and around the house are placed. Will there be electrical cables running anywhere along, up, down the walls where you plan to install lights. Also, if you are planning on taking out the central light and replacing with spots or other downlighting, knowing exactly where existing cables run from and to is critical. With the latter scheme, it is usually easier or even necessary to install a false ceiling for the new lighting units – with all the cabling running between them out of sight from below. The old central rose system can probably be usedr to conduit all the new cabling in one entry point. Ensuring your contractor is fully qualified, experienced, insured and capable is even more critical than the design!
