Desert Travels & Bedecked Back Yard

The summer holidays are well and truly over – the excitement that comes with the third week of July – school’s out and the holidays are here . . . Families able to travel ever farther afield for their annual two weeks of sea and sun; there is no end to the inspirational themes that can be recalled and copied once home. I know of two families near me who absolutely love going to Morrocco, they travel independently these days and stay in various ‘home from homes’ . They eat in with the families and bring back fantastic recipes dating back hundreds of years. They also use all kinds of interesting ways of lighting their gardens up – not just the usual string of lights. There are huge candle shaped lights and one family has little bonfire effect braziers. Admittedly, it is easier to turn on a switch, but for sheer romance, autumn being heralded with bedhouin lights is so much more interesting!
